About AMECSE Conferences

Africa and Middle East Conference on Software Engineering (AMECSE) is a series of conferences started in 2014 as the first forum in the region for practitioners and researchers to present and share the most recent innovations, trends, experiences and concerns in the field of Software Engineering. Every edition of AMECSE fosters a theme that is deemed important for tackling pressing challenges in our region.

The theme of this edition is Software Innovation for Digital Transformation. AMECSE 2018 aims at ensuring the alignment of the new technological trends, business models and processes to drive new values and effectively compete in an over-changing digital economy. The conference will also shed the light on the methodologies suitable for transforming the traditional methods in the different domains into new ones by employing innovative and creative approaches and frameworks.

What People Say About AMECSE

Testimonials from AMECSE Speakers

I am very glad that I had the opportunity to attend AMECSE 2016. It gave me the opportunity to meet a broad variety of people who are interested in both practicing and teaching about Software Development. They asked very thought-provoking questions and this led to fruitful discussions. Some of the discussions continued after I returned home to Canada. The talks and workshops were interesting and helpful. They discussed basic issues and avoided the trap of degenerating to a discussion of short-lived technology. I would recommend the AMECSE series to anyone who has the opportunity to attend.

 Fellow: RSC, ACM, CAE, GI, IEEE; MRIA;

My expectations form AMECSE 2014 is to learn, interact and network with people. I expect in further AMECSE’s to continuously meet people with whom i can build business partnerships and do investments.

Clement Uwajeneza, Aficta Board Member, Founder & Managing Director, AxIS, Rwanda

I think AMECSE 2014 was very successful. This is the first of a series of conferences which I personally hope will continue and also extend lots of technologies to the African continent.

I was very surprised and very happy to see this kind of events happen in this part of the world. I hope to encourage students and research to look more into open data and its applications. I hope this conference is the first but not the last.
